We have a deep love for our community and a passion for building it to be stronger.

About the Members:

We are a group of 3D Printing experts, environmental scientists, makers, roboticists, artists, and teachers. We develop and distribute resources that ultimately empower the public to begin producing locally, recycling waste and cleaning the environment in the process.

As our environment continues to accumulate plastic in landfills, and food resources continue to become more scarce, we’re pressured more every day to find solutions. We think our contribution can be transforming the way people think about waste–recycling plastic into new products and food scraps into new food.

About Mycelium:

Mycelium is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created in 2018 to accelerate the transition to a circular economy in Huntsville, Alabama using cutting-edge and open-source technologies. Mycelium’s uses modern technology such as robotics, AI, and 3D printing to develop community based solutions and empower people to lead self-reliant and sustainable lives.

As a result, we have a variety of projects and programs around this mission; from open source R&D projects aimed at producing hyper-local foods, tackling plastic waste in the environment, to building machines that automatically identify and sort waste, to hosting classes and events on 3D Printing.

Our 3D Printing educational resources and open source plans are shared through our SPORE initiative.
